Study Suggests Babies Born To Pregnant Women Who Smoke, Drink May Be At Risk Of SIDS
HealthDay (2/4/2020) reports, “Pregnant women who smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol may put their babies at higher odds for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS),” a new study found. Researchers found that “after the first trimester of pregnancy, women who both smoked and drank increased the risk for SIDS nearly 12 times,” while for those “who continued to smoke, SIDS risk rose fivefold, and for those who continued to drink, the risk was four times higher,.” Their findings were published in the journal EclinicalMedicine.
Wow, this research is eye-opening! As someone who loves exploring health insights and occasionally crafting virtual worlds in Infinite Craft , I'm shocked by these SIDS risk statistics. Protecting unborn babies should be every parent's priority. Critical study that every expecting mom needs to read and understand. Prevention is key!
